Rachel: -Opens the door to see her mother- Mom?
Shelby: Hi Rachel. How are you?
Rachel: -Turns to look at Jesse- Did you call her?
Jesse: I had no idea she was even coming.
Shelby: -Smiles at her daughter-
Rachel: What are you doing here mom?
Shelby: Your father told me you were hosting a family dinner. He heard I was in town so I thought I would visit as family.
Rachel: -Looks at her- Come in.
Jesse: -Looks at her sighing-
Shelby: -Comes in- What a beautiful home Rachel. You know, you should really start replying to my letters more. I miss them.
Rachel: Sorry, I was a little busy. -Walks over to Jesse smiling- Mom, this is my husband.
Shelby: Ah yes, my new son-in-law. How are you Jesse.
Jesse: Hi Shelby.
Shelby: -Smiles- I heard you are working at your old school Rachel? Do you like it?
Rachel: Mom, I am confused. What are you really doing here?
Shelby: I want to reconnect with my daughter of course.
Rachel: You really screwed up your chance when you stole Jesse away from me the first time.
Shelby: Trust me sweetie, I am not here to do that. I know you love your husband.
Rachel: -Gets suspicious at her mom and just stands there in awkward silence-
