Chapter 40

After putting on some jeans as Sam comes out:
Quinn: -Just wearing some lingerie and a robe-
Sam: -Smiles as he walks out before going to grab a juice-
Quinn: -Feels him walk behind her and smiles-
Sam: What are you making?
Quinn: Omelets.
Sam: -Smiles and leans against the fridge- Sounds delicious.
Quinn: -Smiles as she looks at him out of the corner of her eye- If you stay like that all day, I think I might just explode.
Sam: What? Shirtless?

Quinn: -Smiles-
Sam: -Walks up behind herand puts his juice down before rubbing her arms and kissing her shoulder-
Quinn: -Grabs his hands and intertwines their fingers- Okay, now this feels nice.
Sam: -Leans in and whispers in her ear- All day baby. All day.
Quinn: -Smiles-

Sam: How about I take over breakfast and you can put something on on top of your lingerie? -Wraps his arms around her from behind and kisses her head-
Quinn: -Smiles and rubs his arm and leans back- I am good.
Sam: Good because you look beautiful in this. -Rubs her arm and kisses her neck-
Quinn: -Smiles- Can you either take over or just go sit down? You are distracting me.
Sam: -Chuckles as he lets her go and then goes to sit in the living room, turning on the news-
Quinn: -Smiles as she makes breakfast for her and her loving husband-

Chapter 41a

Meanwhile with Sam's best friend:
Blaine: -Pulling into Dalton-McKinley, looking at the new sign they put up over the summer-
Kurt: -Looks at his husband- Hey, you okay?
Blaine: Ya. Uhm, it's just I remember that sign they put up under the new sign. It used to be at Dalton.
Kurt: -Sighs- I know this is hard Blaine but you know you can always talk to me.
Blaine: I know.
Kurt: -Grabs his hand and holds it for a few minutes in quiet- Want to go look at it close? Touch it?
Blaine: -Looks at him and sighs- Sure. -Gets out of the car and then walks around the car to look at him-
Kurt: -Grabs his hand and rubs it as he intertwines their fingers before leading him over to the sign-

Once they are at the sign:
Blaine: -Lets go of Kurt's hand and then reaches out to touch the old sign, cleaning it to show all of it- At least it wasn't damaged in the fire.
Kurt: A lot of things got damaged in the fire Blaine and to be honest, the fire affected us all. Not just Dalton, me and you but even McKinley. I mean we have a new name this year, new staff, new students, new glee managers and everything. But the one thing that I am happiest about is the end of the competition. I know for sure that had the fire not happened, we would still be fighting and we wouldn't be together like this.
Blaine: -Smiles as he goes to walk over to him, wrapping his arms around him before kissing his head-
Kurt: -Puts his hands on his chest and rubs it before looking at him-
Blaine: -Grabs the back of his neck and leans down to kiss his husband softly- I love you.
Kurt: I love you too. -Smiles when he sees another car pull up- I don't recognize that car.
Blaine: -Turns around and looks at it-

Chapter 41b

As Blaine looks at the car:
Blaine: Oh, Dave must be coming to visit the new school.
Kurt: Dave? As in Karofsky?
Blaine: Kurt, he is my ex, you are my husband.
Kurt: -Sighs- He just bullied me in that past and I don't know if we are friends since I took his guy from him.
Blaine: It wasn't like that. You got your guy back more like it.
Kurt: -Smiles as he kisses his husband gently and then looks at Dave-

Dave: -Gets out of his car and sees Kurt and Blaine- Hey guys, late congratulations on the marriage.
Blaine: Thanks Dave. -Walks over and hugs him- How are you doing?
Dave: Good. You guys  have a good first year of marriage?
Blaine: Uhm, it started off bad but it is going better. -Walks back over to Kurt and grabs his hand, intertwining their fingers-
Dave: Ya, I heard about Dalton. So, sorry Blaine.

Blaine: It's okay. I like working here instead. Get to work with Kurt day-in and day-out. Plus, some of my friends from Dalton are working here now that it is a Performing Arts School.
Dave: I thought it was overdue that I came for a visit.
Kurt: Uhm, if you want, I can take you towards Finn's locker memorial. Nobody can use that locker except for me and Rachel now though.

Dave: Ya, because Rachel is his ex and you are his stepbrother. How is his mom anyways?
Kurt: She is doing better. Me and my dad took her to grief councilling. Oh, that reminds me. Blaine, they said that they wanted to come over for supper sometime soon.
Blaine: Good to know. We will have to do that. Listen, it is started to get a little chilly out here? Come in with us Dave.
Dave: Sure. -Smiles as he follows his friends/ex-boyfriend inside-

Chapter 42

Once they arrive at Locker #1182:
Kurt: -Tears up as they walk up to the locker- Whenever I walk by this Locker, it brings me to tears.
Blaine: -Sighs as he holds his hand and rubs it-
Dave: Makes sense, so who uses this locker?
Kurt: The Glee Students use these lockers in this hallway. This one is reserved for me and Rachel remember?

Dave: Right, you said that.
Kurt: -Opens it-
Blaine: May I just add that I use it too.
Kurt: Right, sorry.
Blaine: It's okay, sensitive subject.

Kurt: -Looks in- Everyday we come in here and look at the book we have in here. We write down things that happen a few years ago along with the year. Like today would be the day he joined the Glee Club in 2009.
Dave: -Looks at it-
Kurt: Many dates are written in here. Heck, some events are just those that happen. People think that just because it is in this locker he can read it in heaven. Like weddings, engagements and births. See, I wrote in here me, Blaine, Santana and Brittany's anniversary.
Blaine: -Looks at it and smiles-

Dave: And then there is a few journals I see?
Kurt: Oh, this is for everybody. People can come when they think of him and just write a prayer or notes. When it fills up, we put it in the Glee Room near the drums. I think we have 3 books so far. And in there, there is 1 reserved for former members of the Glee Club.
Dave: Wow, a lot of stuff has changed since I last came here.
Blaine: Sadly, no more athletics really Dave. Mostly music and arts now.
Dave: Really?
Blaine: Special designation means resources need to be spent elsewhere.
Kurt: -Looks at him- So, you want to go see the Glee room? I kinda need to get going before I cry more.
Dave: Sure. -Smiles-
Blaine: -Rubs his back and smiles as he leads him away to the Glee room-

Chapter 43

Meanwhile back with the Evans family:
Sam: -Sitting on the couch as he wraps his arms around his wife, kissing her head as he runs his fingers through her hair and rubs her arm-
Quinn: -Rubs his chest and lays her head down-
Sam: This feels really nice. Unfortunately this is not forever.
Quinn: -Smiles as she cuddles up to him-
Sam: -Wraps his arm around her tight before rubbing her back and leaning down to kiss her, grabbing her hand-
Quinn: -Smiles as she rubs his chest and lays her head down-
Sam: -Smiles as he kisses her head again when he hears the door- That must be my mom.

Quinn: I thought she was bringing Beth later.
Sam: -Smiles as he gets up and grabs his shirt- Unfortunately, she has to work this afternoon unlike us. -Goes to open the door to see his mom and daughter- Hi sweetie, have fun with grandma? -Smiles as he picks her up out of his mom's arms-
Mary Evans (Mom): So, what is the excuse for a day off this time Sam? You aren't a student anymore. You have a full-time job.
Sam: Emotional distress. Someone insulted our daughter and I kinda got really mad at her. I need a day with my family to cool off.

Quinn: As do I. -Gets up and smiles as she walks up behind her husband- Mary, how are you?
Mary: Good dear. -Hugs her daughter-in-law smiling- Man, you look great.
Quinn: Thanks, I have been told daily.
Sam: -Smiles as he carries their daughter into the living room, kissing her head before setting her down in the play pen-
Quinn: Uhm, how about you come in for a while Mary?
Mary: I really should be going.

Sam: Mom, it is 8:30 am and I know you don't work until this afternoon.
Mary: Okay fine. -Smiles as she comes into their appartment-
Sam: -Smiles when his mom comes in befor walking up behing Quinn and wrapping his arms around her- How about you go sit down and I will be right there?
Quinn: -Smiles as she goes to sit down-
Sam: -Smiles at his mom- Want some Coffee mom?
Mary: Sure. -Smiles as they go to the kitchen together-

Chapter 44a

When Sam & his mom are in the kitchen:
Sam: -Turns to look at his mom after starting her tea-
Mary: Okay Sam, spill.. What is the real reason for the day off?
Sam: It is a long story. But okay. Well, it started yesterday on the first day.
Mary: Yes, that is why I am curious why you took a day off on the second day of school. Not a good way to impress your boss.

Sam: I know my boss pretty well. He was my Glee teacher.
Mary: Oh right, Mr. Schuester. Okay, but what does that have to do with it?
Sam: Uhm, yesterday we had a security breach int he preschool where Beth goes.
Mary: Oh my. That is nerve racking.
Sam: That is just half of it. Try having a teacher from our Rival school come in and look at your daughter as she takes a nap.

Mary: Oh my god, is she okay?
Sam: Yes. But that teacher is not okay. I am calling the board.
Mary: Who was it?
Sam: Sue Sylvester, former cheerleading coach.
Mary: Wow, wasn't Quinn a former cheerleader?
Sam: She just hates the Glee club but I can't stand letting my daughter be there if they can let just anybody in the nursery.

Mary: Now I definatively understand.
Sam: Oh and that is just the half of it. The woman had the nerve to write a note and put it on her head on a post it note. Man, I wanted to punch her so hard but not there.
Mary: What did it say?
Sam: I can't even think of it but she is definatively getting fired. Called the board and complained right away.

Mary: Wow, that is just bad. Listen, I am starting to calm down on working and I really just do shifts. If you want, I can take her home with me and watch her everyday. Just drop her off. Saves you money and the worry to know she is safe.
Sam: It's just, some nights we are late because of Glee and we really just want to come home.
Mary: Listen, I will watch her here then.
Sam: You would really do that?
Mary: Sam, you are already doing so much and I am proud of you. You and Quinn are working so hard and you are young parents. I had 3 kids. Let me take care of her during the day.
Sam: What about Stacey and Stevie?
Mary: I can deal with them at the same time. Heck, they are mostly in their rooms now.
Sam: I would have to talk to Quinn first but that works. Wait, what about during your shifts?
Mary: Your dad can take care of her then.
Sam: Okay. Let me just ask Quinn first.
Quinn: -Walks over- Ask me what?

Chapter 44b

Sam: I was going to ask if you wanted my mom to start watching Beth instead of putting her in daycare? She says she is starting to work less and is on shift work now.
Quinn: Really? That sounds great.
Sam: -Smiles- And she said my dad could probably be there when she is working. Plus, we always have my siblings Stevie and Stacey.
Quinn: Then that works. I would be much happier if I knew she was in proper hands instead of the nursery. But listen, I have to put her down so I want her to say hi to grandma quickly.
Sam: -Smiles-
Quinn: -Gives beth to his mom-

Mary: -Smiles as she holds her granddaughter- Hi Beth. How are you?
Beth: -Reaches out for her grandma- Gammy.
Mary: -Smiles-
Sam: Really, she says Gammy as he first word?
Mary: -Smiles- Sorry guys.

Sam: -Smiles at Quinn and looks at her- Listen, how about you go into the bedroom and we can sit in there again while Beth takes a nap in the nursery in there.
Quinn: -Smiles as she rubs his chest- Thanks for building that in there.
Sam: -Kisses her head softly-
Mary: -Hears Beth cry and looks at Quinn-

Quinn: And that would be nap time. -Smiles as she goes to grab Beth, holding her close-
Sam: -Smiles- Be in soon.
Quinn: -Smiles and goes to their room to put Beth down-
Mary: You probably want some alone time while she naps?
Sam: Ya, we just want the day to ourselves.
Mary: Okay.
Sam: I'll call you when we can visit okay? Stacey and Stevie might want to see their niece.
Mary: They do.
Sam: -Smiles- Maybe this weekend?
Mary: Sure. Have a good day sweetie. -Hugs him and kisses his cheek-
Sam: But mom. -Leads her out and then closes the door before turning around to go to the bedroom-

Chapter 45

When Sam has let his mom out:
Quinn: -Just finished putting Beth in bed and is now sitting on the bed, turning on the tv-
Sam: -Smiles as he walks in, walking over to bed- Want your husband to hold you again or just sit beside you?
Quinn: Of couse I want your arms around me.
Sam: -Smiles as he walks around the bed and then gets in bed with her underneath the covers-
Quinn: -Smiles as she moves onto his lap and leans back against his chest and slips her legs in between his-
Sam: -Smiles at her and leans down to kiss her head before sloutching down-
Quinn: -Smiles as she grabs his hand- Sam, can I ask you something?
Sam: What's up?
Quinn: What would you say if I take some time off again. I know I just came back from maternity leave but I am not sure if I am ready.

Sam: -Smiles and kisses her head softly- That sounds reasonable and we can do it. If you wanted to, you could actually just ask to be changed to a substitute teacher instead of full time. That way you can still be in Glee club with me.
Quinn: That sounds like a good idea.
Sam: -Smiles as he turns his head and looks down at her- Hey, look at me.
Quinn: -Smiles as she looks up at her husband-
Sam: -Smirks as he rolls over onto his side and lays down, tugging her close-
Quinn: -Grabs his neck smiling as she leans in and kisses him softly-
Sam: -Wraps his arm around her and tugs her close before leaning his forehead against hers- We will get through this okay? Together like always.
Quinn: -Smiles as she grabs his neck and kisses him again- I love you.
Sam: And I love you. -Kisses his wife again smiling as he rubs her arm and enjoys his day off with his beautiful wife-

Blaine: Definatively, that is why we asked the janitor to open so early. We want students to come work as early as they can to improve. We are here to help.
Marley: -Smiles- Hey, do you think you can critic us on that?

Kurt: Really, that was amazing. The harmonies came in at the right time and duets too.
Ryder: -Smiles- Uhm, we work at night too. It's just the acoustics are better here.
Blaine: At night? Seems late to stay over every night.
Marley: -Smiles at Ryder- Uhm, we are engaged actually.
Kurt: Oh my god, congratulations guys.

Marley: I know 2 years is soon but hey, we want to make it last and I think we can.
Blaine: Let me tell you that it works. I only knew Kurt 3 years before we got engaged. Then un-engaged and then married.

When Blaine & Kurt are in private:
Blaine: -Wraps his arms around Kurt before rubbing his arm-
Kurt: So, what did you need to talk to me about?
Blaine: I kinda wanted to ask you a favour. I know what it is like to have a failed engagement this young.
Kurt: As do I. And I regret it.

Blaine: You see, I just learned that Marley and Ryder are engaged and I was hoping to kinda help them secretly so they don't end up like us.
Kurt: Now that is just sweet. And I love you for that. -Smiles as he wraps his arms around his head and kisses him softly- So what do you need me to do?
Blaine: First we need to make sure Jake doesn't learn about it because I know he will go mad. But we ay want to ask them first about it. I know I said secretly but I changed my mind.

Kurt: Better to let them know than do it behind their backs.
Blaine: Lets just wait a few days to see if they even need us.
Kurt: Great idea. Hey, I heard them say the date but didn't really understand.
Blaine: They said they wanted to do it in New York if we make it to Nationals.
Kurt: -Smiles- I wonder if they would do a double wedding. It was my dream to get married there but it was nice in Lima too.

Sebastian: -Grabbing his notebook and setting it down on the piano-
Kurt: -Smiles at Blaine- Oh, I remembered. I said I would go help with the Troubletones because Sam and Quinn are out today.
Blaine: Okay, I can deal with the class with Sebastian's help. Go ahead.
Kurt: -Smiles as he walks out to go join the Troubletones-
Blaine: Wow. Hey, so it is just me and you today because Kurt is helping with the Troubletones.
Sebastian: Just like old times.

Blaine: -Chuckles- Hey, so what are we going to do today? Kurt said we should do something line first groups.
Sebastian: Definatively. Oh hey, did you see the Dalton sign?
Blaine: Ya, uhm, really brought back old memories.
Sebastian: I swear, it seems like just yesterday I was on the stage competing against you performing Live While We're Young by One Direction.

Meanwhile with the Troubletones:
Kurt: -Walks in to see Mercedes at the Piano- Looking good Mercedes.
Mercedes: Hey Kurt. What's up?
Kurt: I thought I would let Sebastian help Blaine more since he knows the Warblers routine more. Plus, I know Quinn is out so I thought you might need help.

Mercedes: You bet I do because guess who Quit? Brittany and Santana. So now, I am all alone here.
Kurt: Wow and of course, the day they do, Quinn and Sam take the day off.
Mercedes: They don't like that other people lead. So listen, today I wanted to start with some Alicia Keys with the girls. Remember, the songs are meant to empower girls.

Kurt: You thinking what I'm thinking?

Kurt: Definatively. Normally, me and Blaine perform 1 song to start the class, wakes them up and reminds them they are in good hands.

Mercedes: And hopefully someday, performances like these will follow you all when you graduate. Glee changed me and Kurt forever and now we have the honour to teach you all. Now, how about we start off first with where you want to end up?

Mercedes: And what about a recording artist?

Kurt: Right, I forgot we had a smal group.
Mercedes: 3 girls. We might need to get more to compete independently.
Kurt: Right now, we can compete as a subgroup during big competitions.

Mercedes: We only have 9 in the entire group. We need 3 more to even think about that.
Madison: Can I make a suggestion?
Kurt: Of course.
Madison: Why don't we go into the halls during breaks the sing there? Get people to sign up.

Mercedes: Let me just go talk to Mr. Schue first okay?

When Mercedes is in the office:
Mercedes: -Walks in and looks at the secretary (Janice)-
Janice: -Looks up to see Mercedes- Hi Mercedes.
Mercedes: Hey Janice, is Mr. Schuester available?
Will: -Looks out of his office- Send her in Janice.
Janice: Go in.
Mercedes: -Walks in smiling- Nice new office Mr. Schue.

Will: Why can't my staff call me Will? Please.
Mercedes: You will always be Mr. Schue to me. Hey, so I need some help. Our group is low on members and even with the Dalton kids, we need more girls if we are going to compete.
Will: So, what do you want me to do?
Mercedes: I want to take my girls down the halls and sing. We will have a sign up sheet too.
Will: That sounds reasonable.

Mercedes: When can we do it? And can the other team join in?
Will: Sure and in an hour? Let me just tell the other staff.
Mercedes: Thanks Mr. Schue. -Walks away smiling as she goes back to the girls-

When the club returns to the classroom:
Rachel/Jesse: -Decided to go do a check on other clubs-
Mercedes: -Turns around and looksat her other coach- Dang, I still got it.
Sebastian: -Chuckles as he looks at his co-Coach- Man it was good to be on the same side as you this time. Was really fun.
Mercedes: Can say the same Sebastian. -Smiles at them and then hears the bell-
Sebastian: And we got back right on time. Okay guys, how about you guys talk amongst yourselves over the phone tonight and start thinking of who you want to sing with. Sheet music on the way out. We are going to start learning Heartbeat Song by Kelly Clarkson tomorrow. Just get used to the lyrics, the beat will be us.
Mercedes: -Smiles- Have a good day guys.

Students: -Get up to grab their sheet before leaving-

When Mercedes and Sebastian are back in the office:
Sebastian: Man that was fun. Reminded me of the gold old days.'
Mercedes: -Turns around to look at him- You mean like 2 years ago.
Sebastian: Ya, uhm, when Dalton was still there.
Mercedes: -Sighs- Man, I forgot that you were from the Dalton side, sorry Sebastian.
Sebastian: It's okay. This is home now. The new Dalton.

Mercedes: -Walks away smiling as she walks out blushing-
Sebastian: -Leans against the desk and looks down, thinking about the kiss and how he thinks this could be something he could enjoy-
